Figure Out The Budget.

Paying for a great wedding celebration is something you must plan on. You will need to have conversations about the finances with your parents if they are helping you at all and if so at what capacity. Finances can be a touchy subject so plan wisely. Knowing everyones expectations will avoid conflict after the wedding.


Pick A Wedding Date.

Do you want a Spring or Fall wedding? Winter Wonderland? A Rustic Barn Venue?

So many decisions to make. Planning these details can be stressful but they don’t have to be. Keep in mind the distance your guests will be driving, nearby hotels, seasonal honeymoon plans and of course pricing for the peak dates.


Start The Guest List.

Making a guest list can be hard work but with the right tools it will save you so much time later. Create a data base for your wedding guests. Create columns per family and track things like RSVPs, gifts, hotel bookings and all other information you may want to track. This list will also be your first contact group as a couple.


Select The Bridal Party.

You probably already know who will be in your bridal party, we have been planning this for years in our heads. Now is the time to ask your family and friends if they will stand up with you. There are so many fun ways to do this. Be creative, planning a surprise party for them can be exciting and the reveal is so much fun. Some couples hand out gifts, t-shirts and cards to pop the question.


Book The Venue.

With the last 4 items checked off the list you will be prepared to visit catering halls. They will ask you how many guests you plan on, size of the bridal party, what is your budget and of course what season you prefer. Once you lock in your date you can call your favorite photographer, DJ, Band, Florist and any other vendors you need for the wedding day of your dreams.
